Washing clothes releases 500,000 tons of microfibers into the ocean each year according to World Economic Forum statistics, that\u2019s the equivalent of 50 billion plastic bottles in weight but each tiny fibre is small enough to be absorbed by plankton and bioaccumulate up into our food chains. Polyester does not break down in the ocean and this kind of plastic can never be removed or cleaned up from nature. The only solution is to immediately redesign the way clothes are made. For us, that means using materials made from plants, not plastic, and instead of sending products to landfill, sending them back to manufacturers to be remade. That is what a circular fashion economy looks like, and because of the choices we made when choosing our supply chain, every product in our collection is designed in this way.
